A numerical simulation on a series of molten fuel behaviors from pin disruption to pool formation was conducted using a particle method. Through the simulation, heat transfer behavior accompanied by a high heat-flux from molten mixture pool to structural wall was clarified.

Based on simulation results which addressed a series of behavior from fuel pin disruption to heat-transfer between molten pool and duct wall observed in ID1 test in the EAGLE program, a physical mechanism of high heat-flux from molten pool to duct wall, which is estimated as a factor of duct wall failure, was investigated.
